Area government, school and hospital officials discuss likely Corona Virus outbreak

Officials representing the City of Cameron, Cameron School District and first responders discussed the growing likelihood of a Corona Virus outbreak during a joint conference Wednesday inside the First Christian Church in Cameron. 

With cases cropping up in California, Oregon and recently two patients under observation for Corona Virus in Overland Park, Kansas, Clinton County Emergency Management Director and Health Department Blair Shock said it is not a matter of if Corona Virus hits Cameron but when.

“There is a growing body of evidence [Corona Virus] is in wider circulation than what has been tested for and detected … It will spread across the United States. It’s coming here. It’s going to become endemic within our society,” Shock said.
